The inadequate cleaning of reusable medical devices has become a news item. Short cuts are being taken in reprocessing reusable medical devices due to surgeon demands, lack of resources such as instruments, equipment, tools and time. All of these affect the ability of the facility to follow medical device manufacturer's instructions for use and recommended practices. The result is reusable medical devices that are not safe to use on patients. This webinar will discuss the best practices in cleaning and decontamination including how to monitor the effectiveness of the mechanical and manual cleaning process to improve patient safety.
